Documentary Initiative

Documentaries have long played an important role in education. Experts assert that documentary film can create an emotional connection between viewer and subject matter.

The CLC’s Social Impact Documentary Initiative invites learners to take an active role in social change.

This documentary takes a candid look at unintended teen pregnancy in Oklahoma. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Oklahoma ranks as the second worst state in the U.S. for teen birth rates.

Today, community partners, government agencies and service providers are implementing programs with the goal of reducing the teen birth rate by 1/3 by the year 2020. Interviews with state officials, educators, teen parents, clergy, community leaders, etc. explores the social, emotional and economic costs of unintended teen pregnancy in Oklahoma.

As the film progresses, the CLC will post updates to this page. If you are interested in assisting with this or any other CLC program, send an email to
